How to Look Great in a Swimsuit
The summer season is fast approaching and you probably will be shopping for a new swimsuit. Finding the perfect suit for you is probably a chore that you are not looking forward to, especially if you have gained a few pounds during the winter. There is something about change rooms that don't make looking for a swimsuit something to which you look forward - maybe it's the bright lights or maybe the cramped space. Whatever the reason, knowing what you are looking for will make buying the perfect swimsuit a much more pleasant experience.
Swimsuits are not all created equally and to look your best you must know your body type to help you choose a suit that complements your assets. Besides the average body type, there are five others: triangle - small bust, large hips; inverted triangle - large on top, narrow hips; hourglass - large on top, small waist, wide hips; rectangle - small at the top, wide waist, small hips and oval- large bust, thick waist and large hips.

A woman who has a triangle shape will want to wear a swimsuit that creates largeness at the bust and has a slimming effect at the hips. She can do this with a swimsuit that has horizontal lines on top and a darker color at the bottom (figure1).

The inverted triangle body shape will want to look smaller on top and larger at the bottom. Choosing a swimsuit with a vertical neckline in a light color can do this(figure 2). The rectangle body shape will want to create curves. A swimsuit that defines the waistline will create the look of curves(figure 3).
A woman who has an oval body shape will want to create a slim look. A swimsuit with a v-neckline in a solid color with little detail will create this look(figure 4).
The hourglass shape has lots of curves and is able to wear print swimsuits and bandeau tops well(figure 5).She will also want to wear styles that accentuate her curves. The bandeau style top is a style best suited to the hourglass body type.
Styles to Avoid
1. If you have a large mid section avoid tankini styles (figure 2).
2. Only wear a bandeau style( figure 3)if you have a small bust.This style will not support a large bust and will look droopy.
3. Avoid horizontal stripes(figure 4) and floral prints (figure 1) if you want to look slimmer.
Keep Skin Looking Great
To look your best in a swimsuit take care of your skin by
1. using proper skin protection - too much sun will age skin and make it dry
2. exfoliating regularity to get rid of dry flaky skin
3. moisturizing daily to keep skin looking soft.
